I have to admit – I am one of these nerds, who thinks of gifts 6 months before the actual holiday and prepares them for at least 3 months prior. My husband is the complete opposite. As if college tuition isn’t high enough, those “evil” professors make you buy textbooks. These textbooks usually cost a hundred bucks or more, so for full-time students who are talking 5 classes, books cost more than $500.
The most effective way to save money on textbooks, according to my ex-classmates, was not buying them at all. 
Amazingly, they somehow passed the classes and got more than D’s for them. Since I have always been a nerd, I didn’t want to do that. I didn’t want to pay several hundred bucks for books either, so I found other ways to save. Read more »
I have to admit that I have a shopping addiction. I love clothing and because there is only this much I can afford, I am constantly looking for deals and coupons. MJRSales has been my greatest find yet.
The store sells customer returns and overstock items, mostly from Victoria’s Secret catalog (Moda International, London Jean, Colin Steward). Occasionally they have Lane Bryant, Route 66 or Zinc stuff, but the majority is from Victoria’s Secret and, therefore, is for women.

I am always amazed at how many cleaning products are available in American stores. I get dizzy looking at bright and colorful bottles which feature “super”, “magical” and “extra strong” cleaning solutions. I always wonder how people in third-world countries or countries where marketing is not so advanced, survive without all these wonderful products…
When I was growing up we didn’t have any “magical” cleaning solutions and mysteriously our house was always clean. Most of our cleaning products were homemade. They were just as effective, and very easy to make. Of course, they were cheap and, most importantly, safe.

Last week I wrote about a must-have item in our home – a bread maker. The bread maker was the first item that I actually insisted on buying (Usually I would protest when my husband wants to buy any innovations). The yogurt maker was the second and so far the last kitchen appliance that I bought. It was only about $20 and it was worth every penny.
