I have to admit – I am one of these nerds, who thinks of gifts 6 months before the actual holiday and prepares them for at least 3 months prior. My husband is the complete opposite. He usually plans to go to the store the day before the holiday (if he doesn’t forget about it that is) and due to the “irony of fate” something will always happen on his shopping day, so he will end up not going at all. He feels bad about it, because he knows that gift giving is a very important part of my culture, but he just can’t himself. He is the biggest procrastinator when it comes to holidays and presents. As if college tuition isn’t high enough, those “evil” professors make you buy textbooks. These textbooks usually cost a hundred bucks or more, so for full-time students who are talking 5 classes, books cost more than $500.
The most effective way to save money on textbooks, according to my ex-classmates, was not buying them at all.
Amazingly, they somehow passed the classes and got more than D’s for them. Since I have always been a nerd, I didn’t want to do that. I didn’t want to pay several hundred bucks for books either, so I found other ways to save. Read the rest of this entry »

I have to admit that I have a shopping addiction. I love clothing and because there is only this much I can afford, I am constantly looking for deals and coupons. MJRSales has been my greatest find yet.
The store sells customer returns and overstock items, mostly from Victoria’s Secret catalog (Moda International, London Jean, Colin Steward). Occasionally they have Lane Bryant, Route 66 or Zinc stuff, but the majority is from Victoria’s Secret and, therefore, is for women.
