Frugal Tips

Frugal tips for all. Simple ways to save and earn.

About Me

Mar-10-2009 By Frugal 101

Hi everyone and welcome to my site.

My name is Natalia. I am originally from Eastern Europe, so if you see some awkward phrases or incorrectly used articles, please forgive me. English is my fourth language, but I am diligently working on improving it.

I am a mom of two adorable and unusually active little kids and a wife to one almost perfect husband. I completed four years of Business school in Europe and four years of Communication studies in the U.S. After I graduated, instead of looking for a job I decided to stay at home with my kids. It wasn’t the most practical decision I have ever made, but I realized that nothing makes me happier than motherhood. When I am at home with my family, I am the happiest woman on earth.

Living on one income and paying college debt was not easy, but I had to make it work. My goal was to stay at home with my children and be able to afford it. And you know what? I did.

I found the easiest ways to save money and live frugally. I also found simple ways to earn some extra cash from home.

I have to confess, I like to shop. I love fashion and I love getting gifts for people (this is a big part of my culture). I like to buy and eat healthy foods, so you will never see me in MacDonalds chewing a burger. To keep my fashion preferences and stay healthy, I find the best places for coupons and hot deals, and look for the easiest ways to buy organic and healthy food on a budget.

I used to write product reviews and sell on eBay. I still do it sometimes when I have extra time. I also write for article directories, which can be a good source of income if you like and know how to write. Each has pros and cons. Since I’ve had a firsthand experience with each, I will let you know what they are.

After trials and tribulations I also finally found a legitimate and inexpensive course on how to make money blogging. No, I am not making $500 a day and can’t say that I could live solely on these earnings, but I only work an hour or two a day and my English isn’t perfect yet. If I was working 5 times more than that, I could probably make a living out of it. After we are done having kids and after all of them are at school, I am planning to do that, but it is going to be awhile yet:-)

In case you want to check it out,  here is the link for three day free trial. It is called the Niche Blogger and is taught by Amy Bass.

When I was growing up, my mother was making $200 a month as a teacher, but we were never in debt. Yes, it is cheaper to have an apartment in Eastern Europe, but food costs the same and clothing costs even more than in the U.S. I learned many frugal tips from my family.

To live by consuming is the main value of many Western people. People buy things they don’t really need; they buy bigger houses than they can afford; they live above their means, and as a result become slaves of their credit card companies.

Live frugally, live simply. Spend more time with your family. This is much more rewarding in my opinion. You really don’t need a bigger house than your neighbor, and your child doesn’t need the coolest iPod.

If you like to shop and feel that you “need” 10 pairs of jeans, like I do (this is my weakness, I know), at least make sure you never pay full price and get the best deals you can. My frugal tips will help you save a lot of money and even earn some, if you wish.

Money can’t buy happiness, even scientific research proves that. The purpose of this site is not to make you rich. Its purpose is to help you get the most out of your money.

Remember, that I will not suggest anything that I haven’t tried myself. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and I will be happy to answer.
