Last week I wrote about a must-have item in our home – a bread maker. The bread maker was the first item that I actually insisted on buying (Usually I would protest when my husband wants to buy any innovations). The yogurt maker was the second and so far the last kitchen appliance that I bought. It was only about $20 and it was worth every penny. We often associate the phrase “saving money” with something unpleasant, such as not going shopping for awhile or skipping our regular Saturday night out. These would certainly help, but there are a number of other easier ways to save money, which many people are neglecting. The reason for neglecting them is probably the fact that you don’t save a lot of money at once. I am always amazed at how many cleaning products are available in American stores. I get dizzy looking at bright and colorful bottles which feature “super”, “magical” and “extra strong” cleaning solutions. I always wonder how people in third-world countries or countries where marketing is not so advanced, survive without all these wonderful products…
When I was growing up we didn’t have any “magical” cleaning solutions and mysteriously our house was always clean. Most of our cleaning products were homemade. They were just as effective, and very easy to make. Of course, they were cheap and, most importantly, safe.
