An aerial view of LaGuardia Airport

One of the biggest obstacles for people who want to travel is the astronomical cost of airfare. Many people don’t know where to find bargain flights, so they either choose driving (even if it means driving for 11 hours straight) or staying at home. Thankfully, there are many places which offer cheap bargain flights. My favorite one is Priceline.

Despite of my deep love and devotion to online shopping, I love hunting for designer shoes on sale at actual stores. I like to try shoes on and touch them, to see if the leather is soft enough and to make sure they fit comfortably.

However, I don’t always have a babysitter, and trying to choose shoes while my kids are running around the store and pulling things off the shelves, is far from relaxing. Read the rest of this entry »

Oct-10-2009 By Frugal 101

If you have been reading my blog, you know what my addictions are: clothing, shoes and handbags. I shared most of my secrets where I get clothes, bags and shoes for cheap, but there is another place that I have to mention. Payless Shoe Source.

You can shop Payless online, or if you prefer you can go to an actual store. There are three main reasons why I like to shop Payless.

When my frugal shopacholic friend told me about this site called “Endless” which sells discount handbags and shoes, I went to check it right away. When I opened the first page, I though she went nuts.

$149 Tote? ON SALE? Or what is this – $378 hobo??? $1290 pair of sandals?!??? WHAAAAT?!? Did she win a lottery or something? I don’t ever remember her spending more than $50 on anything. When I calmed down a little and looked closely I realized that I somehow landed on “designer” page and the items were sorted by price: “high to low”. Read the rest of this entry »

Before I came to the United States I wore sneakers only to a gym. Actually, I would only wear them AT a gym, because they seemed way too unfeminine and ugly to walk on the streets in. I had to reconsider my fashion choices and hide my stiletto heels when I moved to the U.S. and had kids. I didn’t want to wear Wal-Mart unattractive and cheap sneakers and I wasn’t going to spend hundreds of bucks on just as unattractive brand name ones either. Skechers became an answer to my prayers.

Sep-19-2009 By Frugal 101

I love kids’ clothes. They are so cute and bright, and every time I go to the store I have to use my will power not to buy the entire rack. I like to find ways to buy kids clothes for cheap, because my kids seem to grow out of them before I get them out of the shopping bags. Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to score cute children clothing for unbelievably low prices.
