Frugal Tips

Frugal tips for all. Simple ways to save and earn.

Searching for debt reduction help can be frustrating, because the Internet is flooded with articles, websites and help offers, each of them is claiming to be the best. While you can’t do much damage reading the articles and browsing websites, finding a good professional help is crucial.

1. Keep in mind that there is absolutely no need to pay someone to help you get out of debt. Many organizations believe that it is unethical to charge someone who is already in a very deep financial hole. There are plenty of non-profit organizations in almost every state who offer financial help free of charge. Don’t think that if the service is free, it is not any good and you will only waste your precious time.

2. If you can’t find a reputable free service, be careful when choosing debt consolidation companies. Stay away from those who ask you to pay them upfront. You should not pay anything until your debt is settled for an agreeable amount.

3. Look for the company which is registered at BBB and check their status. Look for feedback, reviews and complains before you make any decisions.

4. Read the agreement that this debt consolidation company sends to you. The majority of Americans never reads agreements, disclaimers and tiny prints, which is one of the reasons why so many get trapped in something they didn’t really want in the first place.

5. Don’t seek for help when you can do something by yourself. Quite frankly, you don’t really NEED to hire anyone to reduce or even eliminate your debt. Talk to your lenders and creditors and see if they can lower your interest rates or negotiate a reduced settlement on some debts. Do your research and educate yourself on your options and solutions. Go to Amazon and look for debt free guides. If you don’t want to spend money, go to your local library and borrow a few books over there.

Whichever way you choose, make sure to follow through, and then when you reach your debt-free goal, make sure to celebrate.
