How to Save Money on Vacation Part 2
How to Save Money on Vacation Part 1
4. If you decided to stay in a hotel, look for two-star options. Find a reputable 2-star hotel and you can easily save $40-$50 per night. You may have to bring your own toiletries, but if you are on a budget, it is well worth it.
5. Don’t forget about magic word: COUPONS! Depending on where you are going, search for coupons online. Usually there are plenty of coupons for amusement parks, restaurants etc. Go to restaurant.com to find great deals in any area. You can easily get a $25 gift certificate for $10 or even $5. Don’t forget to go through Mr.Rebates to save 25% of your purchase. If you don’t have an account with them yet, it is about time to create one. It is simple and free and will save you money every time you shop online.
6. When you go out, order only water. It is not only free, but it is much healthier for you than sodas or fruits juices with high contents of corn fructose syrup. If you are traveling as a family, imagine how much money you can save doing this.
7. If you are traveling by plane, make sure you do your homework and find the cheapest prices possible. I recommend using Priceline to find the best deals.
8. Don’t let driving by car on a long distance scare you. You may have a great quality time with your family while driving. Sing, play, talk. Stop somewhere to have a picnic.
9. Rent a car only if you absolutely need it. Many hotels have free shuttles to malls and major attractions. Don’t forget about public transportation.
10. Save on parking expenses. Many parking lots which are associated with major attractions are way overpriced. You may find a free or a reasonable priced parking a block or two from it. Just make sure to plan ahead.
Don’t be tempted to skip a vacation. Life is too short to limit ourselves from such simple pleasures. If you plan ahead, you can have a wonderful time without spending too much money.
